Detailed Information

About Me

I work one to one with adult individuals who find themselves struggle with compulsive sexual behaviours and porn use.

I’m trained and qualified in working with sex addiction, Since adding and applying these trainings to my work I’ve not looked back. Sessions can feel intense but in a way that fee. invigorating and exciting. Most people want to be able to talk about sex and intimacy without being judged or seen as weird.

I arrived at this area of work completely by chance, and straight away I loved it!. I found myself  impacted and moved by the struggle and also the hope, immense possibility at transformation that doing this work can provide. There’s something so compelling for me about understanding so clearly how these type of addiction occur, and take a hold, and keeps them going to the point of the proverbial wheels falling off. Perhaps that’s due to depression or anxiety taking a toll, or  the discovery of an affair, a betrayal or recognising the negative impact this has been having on your life.  Commonly there’s a wretched feeling of guilt and shame that people experience once they’re exposed or they find themselves and the quality of their relationships, job, friendships, sex life negatively impacted by the behaviours.

Finding yourself in the grips of sexually themed compulsive addictive behaviours does not mean you don’t deserve help, support and compassion just like in any other difficult life experience.

In my experience this work can lead to powerful transformation and a deeper understanding of yourself and how you want to take that forward and gain the fulfilment you deserve.

Working with me

I know you will likely fear fearful of what you might expect in therapy, so I want to assure you that I will do my best to help you feel at ease. You’re really welcome to use whatever language you feel at home with, swearing is optional and actually I encourage it.  You definitely won’t offend me. I want you to express yourself with having to filter or edit so that you can be yourself and feel seen and heard.

The first session

This is about getting to know you. It’s pretty informal, I’ll prompt you by asking about your life experiences: your important relationships and anything that might be significant or important.

My sexual addiction training led me to train in sex and intimacy issues, so you can be assured that you can speak freely, frankly and openly about what you’re experiencing, and what’s been happening. We’ll identify any worries, fears, concerns you might have. Also we’ll look at locating what you want to be experiencing in your life, and ways towards getting that.

Important to know

Contrary to popular myth, you don’t need to be mentally ill to attend therapy. It’s not all dark, gloomy, & dwelling in the past, with you talking to me whilst I sit stony faced and silent. I take my work seriously but I want you to know it can also be fun. You’ll feel my care and compassion, and you’ll feel me with you in the process: following you or alongside you, at other times I’ll take the lead if that’s what’s needed:
