Inner Child Effect: Transforming the Root Causes of Problematic Sexual Behaviours

Dr Eddie Capparucci

Research has explained addictions are rarely just about the behaviour itself. Instead, they are deeply rooted in unresolved past trauma and neglect. To achieve lasting recovery, individuals are encouraged to address the emotional wounds that drive their destructive behaviours. The Inner Child Model™ is a trauma-based approach that reveals the ‘why’ behind Problematic Sexual Behaviours and other addictive patterns. At the heart of addiction lies pain points from childhood that continue to fuel emotional distress and compulsive behaviours. This presentation will explore: The Role of the Inner Child in shaping addictive behaviours and emotional dysregulation, 12 Core Inner Children—each representing common unresolved childhood pain points, and How the Inner Child Model™ empowers clients to recognize, anticipate, and stay one step ahead of their emotional triggers and compulsive urges.

Heterosexual Men’s Sextech: Developments and Discussions

Dr Chloé Locatelli

This presentation will draw from Dr Locatelli’s doctoral research to explore how sextech products may intersect with research on sexual addiction and compulsivity. Dr Locatelli’s work explores developments in heterosexual men’s sextech, that is digital devices designed for sexual pleasure. This discussion will cover the findings of this investigation through an exploration of three successful sextech products designed for this audience, as well as incorporating relevant literature from this domain. This talk aims to provide timely research to forward conversations in the field about sexual addiction and compulsivity in relation to sextech developments.
