I am a psychotherapist and have been working in private practice since 1997. I was also Head of the Counselling Service at St.George’s Tooting and was also school counsellor at Kings College School, Wimbledon. I became increasingly aware of the problem of addiction to the internet, especially to pornography. This can start early, and, though my work is not exclusively with young people, my experience with this client group has increased my understanding of addictions of various kinds among adults. I undertook a training in Sex and Pornography Addiction at the Laurel Centre in London in 2018 and am a member of ATSAC.
I work with individuals and couples. Some work is long term and some time limited. When we meet I assess the clients’ needs and we work collaboratively from then on. I am not the sort of therapist who sits for long stretches of time in silence, but I am a compassionate and informed listener.
I offer therapy to individuals, couples, partners and family members affected by addictive and compulsive behaviours. I am an experienced psychotherapist and supervisor and am a sex and relationship therapist. I believe the source of most addictive and compulsive processes originate in a disconnection from self and others. Engagement in addictive and compulsive behaviours further alienate and create shame. I have particular interest and experience of working with trauma, shame reduction, and building resilience I work with those who have difficulty in establishing or maintaining relationships and with co-dependency.
I am an integrative psychotherapist, having gained an MA and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Regent’s University London, I went on to study with Paula Hall at The Laurel Centre for a Diploma in Sex Addiction and Compulsivity.
I have worked for many years with individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, with GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity) issues which include; sex addiction and compulsive behaviours around pornography and BDSM/kink/fetish desires, as well as Chemsex and other drug related ‘out of control’ behaviours. Many aspects of these behaviours involve online, app-based and club scene related activities, as well as, issues around private chill-out events. More information can be found on my website http://www.lgbtplus.co.uk
Chemsex is a complex issue and one that I consistently see affecting gay men within my private practice. As an integrative psychotherapist I work holistically with you, in a humanistic and relational way to connect with you, to understand what is behind these issues, as well as identifying coping strategies to help in the here and now. Methodologies include; Person Centred, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.
I have also worked with male sex workers involved in escorting, online video/private subscription sites and studio pornography production, some of whom wish to leave the sex industry. Issues around self-esteem and self-worth, combined with excessive drug and alcohol use are common.
My work with SurvivorsUK involved working with men who had been sexually abused as children or raped as adults. Issues included, sex addiction and compulsivity, pornography, sexual orientation, self-harm, flashbacks and anger.
I am a registered member of UKCP and BACP.
Sessions can either be arranged in-person at my office in Belsize Park NW3 or via Zoom on a secure video link.

My qualifications include a PGDip in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, an advanced diploma in couples therapy, a certificate in sex addiction and compulsivity and training in “alternative” sexualities with Pink Therapy. I’ve featured in publications including The Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Sun and Men’s Health. I’ve also been a guest on LBC and Radio 4’s Women’s Hour.
Sex should be a natural, enjoyable part of life. But for some it becomes an addiction or compulsion. I work with people, perhaps like you, to help them return to a fulfilling sexual life.
I also work with those who feel their sexual drive may be unnatural. My office is in Canary Wharf (E14) and I see clients from all over London and surrounding counties.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is the principle therapeutic approach I use but I will also introduce other counselling techniques as appropriate. The first counselling session can be daunting so I carefully tailor this meeting to ensure that clients feel as comfortable as possible. I will explain what they can expect and what will be expected of them. In this way they begin to take back control of their lives.

About Me
AuDHD licensed Psychotherapist and Neurotherapist.
I initially trained with Paula Hall at the Laurel Centre, a leading specialist working with Compulsive behaviors. I am trained to work with both partners, individuals, and as a couple.
I work online using Zoom. My treatment plans are individualized and incorporate scientifically backed interventions. I do utilize Psychoeducation, which can take away much of the misconceptions surrounding these issues, and clients often find this immediately helpful. My work is informed by Schema Therapy. Present studies have confirmed a positive relationship between schema activation and several addictive behaviors, including addictions to gambling, gaming, social media use sex, exercise, and food.
My specialty areas are Compulsive Sexual Behaviours, Betrayal Trauma, and Relationship Intimacy Issues and I can work through a Neurodivergent lens. I work primarily online. I have a sex-positive approach to this work and support Sexual orientation and gender diversity.
Neurotherapy is proving an effective long-term treatment outperforming medication in many areas. A dual approach using Neurotherapy and Psychotherapy can be very effective in treating Compulsive behaviors, Trauma, ADHD and Autism.
Feeling overwhelmed? lonely? confused? Here is a good place to start. Below are a few comments from previous clients:
… our sessions. I found them hugely insightful, and that they helped me to navigate to a better understanding of myself, my emotions, and my coping mechanisms. In turn, I now feel I have more of a choice/ability to self-determine when presented with difficult situations. I feel like I am on a much surer footing for embarking on couples therapy with my wife and have much greater confidence that the challenges in my relationship can be overcome. Thank you!

Tanya has helped us both as a couple dealing with the problems caused by compulsive sexual behaviour both as an addict with a history of ADHD but also as an affected partner. Her caring and practical approach using a variety of therapy tools, together with her knowledge of neurodiversity has helped us recover our life together. We now better understand each other as individuals and as a couple. Her use of neurofeedback therapy to treat ADHD issues has helped us immensely.
