• Psychological therapy typically involves an assessment process where I seek to understand problems from the client’s perspective and how and why the particular difficulties evolved.
• My postgraduate training in counselling psychology is a research based perspective to therapy and integrates a number of theoretical models including cognitive & behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic (attachment theory), humanist or client centred therapy, existential therapy and neuropsychology.
• Individual therapy may involve one, some or all of the above approaches. This may involve helping a person to understand who they are, how they behave and what they would like to change and how to make those changes
• Psychosexual and Relationship therapy – Relationship therapy focuses on what each partner wants from and can give to each other without losing sight of the individual personality. This may include a variety of issues including understanding each other’s intimacy needs and improving communication. Psychosexual therapy focuses on any sexual concerns or problems that an individual or couple has without losing sight of the relationship. Psychosexual & relationship therapy is an integrative therapy.
• EMDR (eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proved effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardised protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR has helped many people of all ages relieve many types of psychological distress including compulsive behaviours and attachment distress.

I have over 12 years of experience working as a  Relationship Counsellor in Relate and for the NHS. I am also a qualified psychosexual counsellor and have completed a level 5 diploma in sex addiction counselling.

I am a qualified psychotherapist with over twenty-five years’ experience of working in the NHS and private practice. I have studied to masters level and have qualifications in psychosexual therapy, sexual compulsivity and cognitive behavioural therapy. I worked as Highly Specialist Psychosexual Therapist in the NHS, a senior lecturer on the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy at UCLAN and as a psychotherapist in an Early Intervention in Psychosis service.

I work with people who have, or are affected by sexual compulsivity, whether it is directly, or a partner of someone with difficulties. I work eclectically drawing on a range of theories and I endeavour to work flexibly, compassionately and with a view to making a difference.

I work in private practice with people presenting with sex, gambling, alcohol and drug addictions.   I undertook one of Dr Thaddeus Birchard’s original trainings in sex addiction in 2007.  I also work alongside a male therapist who supports partners of clients struggling with sex addiction.  SA clients also have access to 5 local Sex Addicts Anonymous groups per week; 3 in Southampton and 2 in Portsmouth, as well as peer support from other members in those groups.

I am a founder member of ATSAC whilst based at the Marylebone Centre in London, having completed Eoin Stephens course in Ireland. I work with individuals with compulsive sexual behaviour, and offer support  to partners and rehabilitating the couple relationship in recovery. I also provide supervision for therapists. I also practice EMDR as an accredited practitioner and often use this psychotherapeutic approach where there is underlying trauma from the past or as a direct result of relationship betrayal. I have taught modules in training therapist in working with compulsive sexual behaviour, run partner groups and group emdr for partners.

I work with individuals, couples, and partners affected by compulsive and addictive sexual behaviours and paraphillic behaviours. I also work with love addiction, love avoidance and co-dependence. I am an experienced sexual and relationship psychotherapist and couples therapist. I worked for Relate as a counsellor, psychosexual therapist, supervisor and trainer, and for the NHS as a psychosexual therapist and manager of a sexual problems clinic. I am a BACP senior accredited counsellor, a COSRT accredited sexual and relationship therapist and supervisor, and a UKCP registered psychotherapist and supervisor. I have achieved the ATSAC professional qualification in sex addiction and the STOPSO trainings for the prevention of sexual offending. My practice is in Ipswich, and I also work using skype and facetime.

My background is in Person-Centred and Existential Counselling, and I’ve been helping people since 2004. Over the years, I’ve incorporated various theories and practices into my approach, allowing me to offer a personalised, humanistic therapeutic experience. I work in a well-established practice close to Swindon town centre and the railway station. I have been working with couples and individuals for 24 years and am experienced with sexual relationship issues and sexually compulsive behaviours. I am also EMDR trained.

I am an experienced relationship and psychosexual therapist who provides individual and couples therapy from my well established practice in the Midlands and also in Central London.I work on line with clients all over the UK and abroad.  I am a trained sexual addiction therapist, and specialise in working with female partners of men with sexually compulsive behaviours. I also run psycho-educational groups to support female partners of men with sexual addiction. I hold the Professional Certificate in Sex Addiction Therapy, I am a long standing member of COSRT and a registered and accredited member of BACP. In addition to being a counsellor, I am also a trainer, I am able to speak and teach on CPD events, and I have worked for the BACP upholding standards in the Counselling Professions for over 10 years.

Working with individuals, partners and couples in a one-to-one setting and also via a psycho-educational treatment group. Group work is available on an outpatient residential basis or intensives, along with weekly aftercare.
