Sex is a natural, normal and enjoyable part of our lives, but sometimes it can become something that feels out of control, damaging and destructive. Some people find themselves addicted to porn, watching it for hours every day, and as a result their work and their relationships suffer. Others become addicted to having sex with strangers or with escorts. They find themselves spending huge amounts of money, putting themselves and their partners at risk of sexually transmitted diseases and damaging their relationships. As a leading expert on sex and porn addiction, I work with individuals struggling with compulsive sexual behaviours. I provide an innovative treatment programme for sex addicts, based upon a range of therapeutic approaches which have been proven to work. Sex addiction is usually a maladjusted way of managing difficult emotions, and I help clients to understand why they are using sex in a compulsive manner, so that they can get to the bottom of their addiction. I work with them on a programme designed to stop harmful sexual behaviour and to redevelop a healthy relationship with sex.

As an experienced psychosexual and relationship therapist, I have worked with hundreds of clients struggling with sexual addiction and sexual dysfunction. My training includes an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. I am a BACP Registered member and am also a supervisor.

Prior to the pandemic, I offered treatment programmes at my clinic in Harley Street, Central London, in Surrey, and online. As my practice has expanded to serve clients worldwide,  I am currently working exclusively online. This approach increases flexibility, cuts out travel time for clients, and allows therapy to continue during periods of physical absence. Many clients also say that they find it easier to open up when working online, as opposed to face-to-face.

I am an ATSAC qualified therapist,  based just outside the town of Windsor in Berkshire.  I am able to provide one-to-one therapy, either face-to-face or online, working with people experiencing sex addiction.  I can also offer individual counselling for anyone affected by another person’s addiction.

Previously I have been a primary sex therapist at a private 12-Step residential rehabilitation clinic, located in Surrey.  I have also worked in Hong Kong with cross-addicted stimulant users/sex addicts and have a vast experience of working with sex addicts presenting with a wide range of compulsive behaviours.  Through years of both personal and professional experience of addiction/cross-addiction, I have gained the skills and knowledge to help both the person experiencing addiction and the family and friends affected by it.

I work with individuals and couples in my established private practice in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. I work with clients with pornography and other sex addictions and with partners impacted by these issues.  I also work with sex offenders. In addition to addiction/offending  I work with personal issues such as anxiety and depression; couple issues such as repetitive rows or the discovery of an affair; and sexual issues such as loss of desire or physical problems. I am a qualified sex therapist.

I am an accredited BACP member; a senior  accredited COSRT member; a member of ATSAC and a registered therapist with StopSo. I am also an accredited supervisor with COSRT.

I have trained as a psychosexual and relationship therapist through Relate, and with Dr Birchard in the area of compulsive and addictive sexual behaviours.

Additionally I have a qualification in assessment and treatment for people with inappropriate sexual behaviours and have been writing reports for the criminal justice system and Social Services for fifteen years.

My approach is CBT orientated (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and clients are encouraged to complete exercises at home  as a means to moving forward more swiftly.

My background is as a specialist relationship and couples counsellor with over thirty years’ experience.

I now also work with individuals and/or their partners where pornography, online sexual encounters, multiple sexual liaisons or use of sex workers is negatively affecting their lives and relationships. I have a level 5 Diploma in Sex Addiction Counselling through the Institute for Sex Addiction Training (ISAT) and awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

Couples counselling has been described as ‘like piloting a helicopter in a hurricane’. Hence the necessity for an expert therapist experienced in the skills required. I also provide relationship counselling privately having, until recently, worked for Relate (with whom I qualified in 1996).

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and work with people who are looking for help with compulsive sexual behaviours including porn use. I work on-line via video or in person (in Brighton).
