Whilst his training was based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Ron takes an eclectic approach to the therapy depending on the individual needs of the client.

I am an accredited Sexual and Relationship Therapist.  I specialise in working compulsive sexual and/or relationship behaviours (e.g. porn, sex, fantasy, romance, and love addiction), specific sexual practices, sexual function, and maladaptive daydreaming.  My background is in behavioural neuroscience, and sexuality education.  I am dedicated to helping you explore what is okay for you and develop your version of a happy, healthy sense of satisfying relationships and sexual experience.  I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), and EMDR UK and EMDR Europe.

I have extensive clinical experience having worked in the NHS as a senior therapist and supervisor and can support you if you are looking for help with compulsive and addictive sexual behaviour, including porn addiction.  I offer therapy to both individuals and couples and also family members and partners who’s lives have been turned upside down.

I have a particular interest and experience of working with sexual trauma and understand how the origins of addiction can often be attributed to early traumatic life events. I also support individuals who work in the sex industry.

I have an ISAT Diploma in Sex Addiction and am a registered therapist with (StopSO) the Specialist Treatment Organisation for the Prevention of Sexual Offending.  I am an accredited member of the (BACP) British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and practice in accordance with their ethical framework and a qualified member of (ATSAC), the Association of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity.

I am a kink-aware therapist – meaning I have an understanding of kink, fetish and BDSM as normal, healthy parts of many relationships.

I initially trained with Paula Hall at the Laurel Centre, a leading specialist working with Compulsive behaviors. I am trained to work with both partners individually and as a couple.

I work online using Zoom. My treatment plans are individualized and incorporate scientifically backed interventions.  I do utilize Psychoeducation, which can take away much of the misconceptions surrounding these issues, and clients often find this immediately helpful. My work is informed by Schema Therapy. Present studies have confirmed a positive relationship between schema activation and several addictive behaviors, including addictions to gambling, gaming, social media use sex, exercise, and food.

My specialty areas are Compulsive Sexual Behaviours, Betrayal Trauma, and Relationship Intimacy Issues and I can work through a Neurodivergent lens. I work primarily online.  I have a sex-positive approach to this work and support Sexual orientation and gender diversity.

Neurotherapy is proving an effective long-term treatment outperforming medication in many areas. A dual approach using Neurotherapy and Psychotherapy can be very effective in treating Compulsive behaviors, Trauma, and ADHD.

Sex is a natural, normal and enjoyable part of our lives, but sometimes it can become something that feels out of control, damaging and destructive. Some people find themselves addicted to porn, watching it for hours every day, and as a result their work and their relationships suffer. I provide an innovative treatment programme for sex addicts, based upon a range of therapeutic approaches which have been proven to work. Sex addiction is usually a maladjusted way of managing difficult emotions, and I help clients to understand why they are using sex in a compulsive manner, so that they can get to the bottom of their addiction. I work with them on a programme designed to stop harmful sexual behaviour and to redevelop a healthy relationship with sex.

As an experienced psychosexual and relationship therapist, I have worked with hundreds of clients struggling with sexual addiction and sexual dysfunction. My training includes an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. I am a BACP Registered member and am also a supervisor.

Prior to the pandemic, I offered treatment programmes at my clinic in Harley Street, Central London, in Surrey, and online. As my practice has expanded to serve clients worldwide,  I am currently working exclusively online. This approach increases flexibility, cuts out travel time for clients, and allows therapy to continue during periods of physical absence. Many clients also say that they find it easier to open up when working online, as opposed to face-to-face.

I am a fully accredited psychotherapist who has been practising for over 20 years. I have a level 5 Diploma in Sex Addiction Counselling through the Institute for Sex Addiction Training (ISAT) and awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

Couples counselling has been described as ‘like piloting a helicopter in a hurricane’. Hence the necessity for an expert therapist experienced in the skills required. I also provide relationship counselling both privately and for Relate, with whom I qualified in 1996.
